IKEA Coffee Table Makeover

Ikea Coffee Table Makeover- Delicious And DIYWe all have this IKEA Coffee Table or have seen one of these plain and simple tables at one point in our lives. In my case my husband had this table when he was a bachelor living without a care in the world and then I entered his world and well basically took over everything including the coffee table and changed his life and the tables life FORVER.

In a good way of course. But why do I sound so evil! πŸ˜‰

The point is the table got an amazing makeover so no one can complain!

This was my kinda makeover since my obsession with the Aztec pattern is on a crazy level therefore this table was a fun little project.

First things first I painted the entire table in this beautiful Light Mint color.

This pastel shade is just amazing.

Ikea Coffee Table Makeover- Delicious And DIYI gave the entire table two coats of the Light Mint with my favorite HomeRight Finish Max Sprayer.

Like always it gave a super clean and even finish.

So I made this high end super fancy stencil out of an instruction booklet of a blender that my husband and I got as a gift.

Behold my creation πŸ˜‰

I ended up with seven complete patterns and for the ends I just stenciled half of the design because it didn’t make sense leaving empty spaces at the end.

Then with a thin paintbrush I started painting the design in the color Passionfruit.

Ikea Coffee Table Makeover- Delicious And DIYWhen that was finally complete I went in with my Gold Sharpie because some of the lines I thought didn’t look so clean and the Gold Sharpie did exactly what I wanted it to do, plus a hint of Gold never hurt nobody πŸ˜‰

 - Delicious And DIYI needed in total sixteen wood chip pieces since I wanted two on each side of the leg. One on the upper part and one where the lower shelf was of the coffee table.

Ikea Coffee Table Makeover- Delicious And DIYWhen the wood chips were dry I super glued the pieces on the corner of the legs.

Ikea Coffee Table Makeover- Delicious And DIYAnd that was it. The coffee table was transformed.

The light pastel shades was the perfect color for the Aztec Pattern and that is exactly what I ended up doing on this lamp.

How do u prepare your furniture prior to painting? I have some wardrobes I want to paint, not real wood. Think they may be a melamine finish ?
