When I say How I Brighten Up Furniture I literally mean it. I just basically went wild with all the paints i had on hand on this furniture piece. Who wouldn’t want to do that Right? 😉
For this particular piece that was my plan of action. The reason being I had tiny amounts of paint left in my paint bottles which is so annoying because you don’t want to throw them out since you know they still have the good stuff left but then again its such a little amount that you can’t really do much with it. Those were my first reasons.
The next reason was that this wooden swing that my parents have had for a very very long time was begging to be brightened up!
When my family first got this swing we were in LOVE. But that love kinda just mellowed down over the years and a change is always good Right? so this fella needed a lil transformation 😉
Here are the before shots
Don’t get me wrong the workmanship on this swing was beautiful but it just needed a little enhancement since you couldn’t really see all of its beauty with it being all one color.
Until of course you really really focused on it.
And I wanted it to be like a WOAH statement piece the minute you walk in the room.
I can’t even take credit for this idea since my Mom really suggested that why don’t you just go all multi color on this swing. How pretty would that look? And I just looked at her like that is such a brilliant idea. Genius!
And that was that no looking back from that point onwards 🙂
So basically these little babies were all used up on my swing.
This is a collection of all sorts of American DecoArt Paints mostly there Gloss Enamels line. I had an array of color from shades of blues to pinks.
With multiple thin brushes I just went over the existing pattern and design alternating between all the colors since the goal was to finish all the paint in the bottles 😉 plus of course to make the swing absolutely beautiful.
When I started painting the swing thats when it hit me that this is going to be a pretty long process. The carvings were everywhere in every corner even in places that I didn’t expect which made me want to paint it even more since I never bothered to look or appreciate all the tiny little details before and with the paint everything just Popped and made it more clearer.
The front of the swing is my favorite part. Even though the whole thing all together looks beautiful but the front is my absolute favorite.
I wish I could have taken better pictures to give this beauty justice but oh well, will have to make do with what we have for now.
What do you guys think ?
