I really wanted to update our glass table top aka our study table for quiet some time now.It was just a simple plain glass table top on some very simple basic legs.
The legs of the table were from Ikea called Lerberg.
But the problem is I don’t do well with basic or plain or anything with the word simple in it.
It just needed a lil something, a lil happiness just something to brighten it up.
Nothing over the top.
So the first plan of attack was to spray the dark grey legs completely Gold.
It needed two coats to give it complete coverage.
While that was drying I moved onto the Glass Top.
I wanted some clean cut Geometric Liness
With my masking tape I went with a pattern that I just came up in that moment.
It took me quiet some time to get everything equal and precise.
But when I started actually etching I realized I won’t have the patience to etch the whole thing hence the plan changed to just a chevron pattern on each end.
I used DecoArts Easy Etch Cream and it definitely lives up to its name. I did not realize etching could be this easy!
You just apply the etch cream where you want and let it sit there for like 15 minutes, after that scoop up all the cream and re-use it on the other side.
You can re-use this cream as much as you want or put it back in the bottle and it will give the same results every time.
When the cream is all scooped up just give it a final swipe with a clean cloth and Voila you’re all Done.
I like how this table has some character now even though it’s really minimal.
What do you guys think?
This is actually what I was going for nothing crazy but just a lil something 😉
