You guys already know I’ve made this pattern but on a canvas and you can go see it over here.
It had to be done, the design, the colors and the pattern everything is just so good that it needed to be recreated on a furniture piece.
You can see where my original inspiration came from and how I made it on a canvas in the link above but today I will share with you guys how it turned out on my Nightstand.
First off we will begin with the Before
Pretty basic, all black, boring and serious.
And I can’t stand serious it has to be fun.
And I mean SUPER FUN!
The table was in an incredibely good condition nothing wrong with it besides it being too Bland.
And that is a Crime.
A major “NO NO” in my DIY world.
So the first idea that popped in my head was why not use my Flower Wall Art canvas idea onto this Nightstand.
And so the makeover began with removing the hardware first and then giving it one complete coat of the beautiful chalk paint from Country Chic in the color Sea Storm.
You can also see my Gold and Grey Nightstand makeover using this beautiful color.
So one complete coat of the Sea Storm is all it needed and I waited for an hour for it to fully dry before I started drawing all the flowers and leaves onto the nightstand.
This was phase One where I create a base of the flowers and leaves and built up on it with all the different colors.
And of course all the nitty gritty details are in my Flower Wall Art blog post.
The white color I chose to make this base was from DecoArt from there Outdoor Living Line.
My next step was to build up on the leaves with a combination of these two colors.
And this is how it turned out.
The beauty of this design is that you can’t really mess it up.
And you don’t have to be perfect.
My favorite combination when painting furniture.
And then it was time to build up on the flowers which I did with a combination of yellow, pink, purple and coral color.
Then at the very end when everything is completely dry you go ahead and draw the “veins” and the actual pattern of the flowers and the leaves.
And you end up with this beauty.
Like I am in love with how this turned out.
What a Stunner ! (If I say so myself) 😉
But to preserve its beauty I obviously had to give it a good two coats of Rust- Oleum Clear Gloss Spray
And then I re-attached the hardware onto the drawers and this little beauty was All Done.
What a complete 36o degree from where it all started.
What do you guys think?
