I love scrolling through Anthropologie home decor section and I would buy every single item that they have but what I don’t like is the price tag that comes with it.
I stumbled recently on a gorgeous vase on their website which you can see down below.
The vibrant orange color to the whites and the blue pattern combination caught my eye.
That is when I decided what if I painted something similar.
As you guys know I am part of At Home DIY group where every every month we create a DIY project around a certain theme. Last month was all about organization and this months theme is Upcycyle Thrift Store Challenge.
So I decided to recreate this gorgeous Anthropologie Design on a thrift store vase.
Basically for this entire project I only spent $1 which was on the Vase since all the paint supplies etc I already had at home.
Materials Needed for this Project
First off I a custom orange color out of the following paint colors so to match the gorgeous orange color on the Anthropologie Vase.
I mixed a little amount of all four colors and then went ahead and completely painted the Vase.
It needed two coats to fully cover it.
When that was dry I started off with creating the mini cloud like shapes which was the base for the blue flower pattern.
Then using a light blue color which I diluted with water, I created an outline of the pattern.
As you can see I really did it freehand since this was really me just having fun to and see how it would turn out if I paint it.
The last step in the design process was to outline the pattern with a darker blue color.
The few touches that made my dollar store vase really POP was to paint the interior of the Vase white and the rim Gold.
And lastly I gave it a nice coat of Resin which is what brought everything together.
The colors seemed really matte but after applying a coat of Resin it gave the Vase a beautiful sheen.
And there you have it.
What do you guys think?
