This is one of those makeovers that just make you so happy, like those little things lying about in your house that you normally ignore but with just some Paint you completely transform it.
I have three of these lamps in different shapes and sizes and I knew when I was buying them that I will transform all of them later on.
And if you want to see the other two now fully transformed check out my Polka Dot Inspired Lamp and Modern Lamp Makeover.
Here is how the lamp looked Before.
Materials Needed for this Project
Rust-Oleum Metallic Gold Spray Paint
So my plan of attack was to paint the lampshade in the color Passionfruit which is this amazing light pastel pink shade.
The lampshade needed two coats of the paint.
Whenever you paint lampshades always test it by switching on the lamp afterwards because what seems like a perfect paint job may not look so perfect when the light switches on.
There might be some gaps here and there so better to switch on the lamp and check before proceeding to the final step.
Next, I had few of these craft pieces leftover from my Storage Cabinet Makeover so I decided to use it on this project as well.
I painted all the wood pieces in a Mint Green color.
Moving on when the wood craft pieces were dry I went in and applied a thin layer of Mod Podge on the backside and started arranging it on my lampshade.
I glued on the pieces on to the shade in this Aztec pattern.
For the base of the lamp I spray painted it completely in Gold.
