I’ve been really procrastinating with this bookshelf for quite some time now since this is used mostly for dumping all my paints and craft supplies. But as much as I say to myself its just a shelf storing my paint bottles hence no need for it to be all “pretty” but it is still so hard for me to ignore since it’s such an eye sore.
Behold the beauty I get to witness everyday.
The only way I was ever going to organize this mess was if I actually painted it. It was the only way I would ever be motivated to keep it nice and pretty if the bookshelf itself was nice and pretty looking. Right? 😉
Well thats how I work!
With that the painting process commenced.
The colors that I chose for the shelf were Poetic Blue and Atria.
To start off I gave the bookshelf a complete coat of the color Poetic Blue including the shelves.
After about one coat of the paint this is how it looked.
I let it dry before I gave it a second coat.
After the second coat was dry I decided to go in with this pretty stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils and painted it right in the middle of the bookshelf.
I went over the stencil with the color Atria and also over the shelves as well as the top part of the bookshelf.
And that was basically it!
I also updated another bookshelf which is my Modern Bookshelf Makeover, hop on over to check it out.
Just a little paint can totally transform a boring piece.
Now this little beauty is ready to stock up all my craft supplies which I must admit is too pretty to be covered with all my paint bottles 😉
What do you guys think ?
All Done!
