If you have been a long time reader of my blog, you know how I love room makeovers.
Recently I did my Master Bedroom Makeover and Dining Room Makeover .
But today I thought why not do something completely different and give my little Cat a Fun Corner Makeover.
I have a long haired Tabby Persian (she just recently had a lion haircut , just in time for summer hence why you can’t see her beautiful long fur in the picture above)
So we have designated a corner of an extra room we have and right now it did not seem that cheerful and fun.
I had been wanting to give it a makeover for a very long time but it kept on being delayed. But today was the day and she finally got one.
Lets start with how it looked Before
As I said earlier it was very Empty.
I clearly was not joking when I said that!
Her litter box and her food bowl was in one corner and then a few toys that she likes to play with thrown around.
So my first plan was to get rid of the Old GREY Litter Box as quite honestly it isn’t the most appealing thing to look at when you enter the room.
And I found the perfect solution by ordering a new one which not only was functional but looked like a Vase with artificial leaves on top.
It arrived in this color but I obviously was going to paint over it.
The color I went with was Gold.
I gave it about two coats, waited for it to dry and then attached the leaves and assortments that it came with on top of it.
It made such a difference!
Not an Eye Sore Anymore!
And of course you want your house to stay fresh hence why I personally use Purina® New TIDY CATS® Free & Clean™ Unscented Clumping Litter.
It is the perfect addition for the Upgraded Litter Box as it has Unscented Odor Control with the Power of Activated Charcoal.
It is also very easy to scoop out because of its Strong clumps which basically makes cleanups really easy.
The one thing that used to bug me about Litter was the mess it makes but this is 99.9% dust free hence why I grabbed it instantly.
Plus it has the TidyLock Protection which locks away odors.
Win Win!
Not only was my Cat Corner going to look good but also be fresh and clean.
Moving onto my bright DIY Cat Box project .
I simply cut out a Rough sketch of a Cat face out of an empty box.
It would be way easier if you have a Box Cutter on hand which I did not at that time and had to resort to using my X-Acto Knife.
It wasn’t the best choice but it somewhat got the job done.
Almost!
I gave the box a few coats of the white paint and then painted colorful shapes all over using a combination of Pink, Blue, Green and Yellow paints.
For the top part of the box I wanted to make it a soft furry place for my cat to sit on.
I had leftover fabric from a bench project that I did earlier (which you guys will see pretty soon) and placed it on top of the box.
As for the inside of the box I kept a white throw pillow so it was comfortable.
And this was the final result.
I hanged my Pom Pom Display on top of the Cat house and attached a few cat toys from it as well.
The Ombre Yarn Bottles not only look great but serves as a Cat Scratching “post”.
I think it worked out pretty good and my Cat loves it too.
I think it is really important to create a comfortable living space for your pet and you don’t need to go out of budget either.
The biggest problem for a lot of cat owners is with the Litter and the whole clean up process.
The specific one that I purchase which is the Tidy Cats Free and Unscented Litter is free of fragrances, dyes and since it leverages the odor absorbing power of activated charcoal to lock away odors you so you always have a fresh and clean house.
I buy all my pet related items such as toys, food and litter at Target. Not only is it convenient but they have a lot of discounts going on from time to time.
For instance the New Tidy Cats Free & Clean Unscented Clumping Litter had a coupon which made me save $1.50 while I was shopping at Target the other day.
Its available in two options Traditional Clump and Lightweight.
And right now there is BOGO promotion running from 4/22 to 4/28 where you guys can purchase one Tidy Cats product and get one 50% off. So you better make that trip to Target today.
All in all I think my Cat Corner Makeover was a success. The corner looks bright and fun and isn’t just an empty dull space anymore.
