I don’t know about you but I love it when I get a gift which has a lot of thought and effort put into it, like this Clay Heart Dish.
Not only it is a DIY from start to finish but knowing that someone took out the time to make it, is a sure way to put a smile on anyones face.
Even though I created a “broken” heart dish (wanted to get a little creative over here), you can always keep it as one complete heart.

Moving on todays little number.
Materials Needed for this Project
Baking Tray
Aluminum Foil
Plain White Paper
So the colors I chose for this project were red and black.
I rolled out about medium sized clay balls and then flattened them out.
Place a heart template on top which I made from a piece of paper.
Then by using your X-Acto Knife cut out the heart shape.
Remove the template and create a Zig Zag line with the X-Acto knife in the middle to create the broken heart design.
You should be able to manipulate the clay pieces and create a “bowl” type shape just by using your hands.
Let it dry for an hour before baking it.
To keep the round shape intact I use Foil which I scrunch up and then placed the clay pieces on top of it before baking it.
I used the same technique while creating my Flower Clay Dish and they turned out so good.
Bake it as instructed on your clay box.
When you take it out, let it cool before your paint over it.
I chose to use a thin paintbrush and painted it to create my design but you could also use a Gold Sharpie.
Lastly I painted the Rim and wrote LOVE in the middle.
And there you have it.
You can play around with the size of the clay dish, I wanted a cute small little one but you can definitely create a bigger one.
And there you have it.
What do you guys think?
And like always, if you loved this project be sure to Pin it for Later.
