This little beauty I found in our apartment buildings recycling area just like I found this Chest of Drawer, I mean what a score to get an amazing table just for free. The good thing is that on the weekend so many people are shifting or moving that they leave tons of furniture in the recycling area in our building and lucky me I get to do some furniture shopping every Sunday 😉
But with anything which is free it wasn’t in a great condition, but I really loved the architecture and the “Corner Table” style of the table. The table was missing a Drawer Handle and also the drawer had no support meaning I had to attach a piece of wood so that the bottom of the drawer area would stay in place or else it would be dangling in the air.
Here is the before shot
As you can see it has no drawer handle and how the drawer oddly protrudes out, I thought thats how it was supposed to be but when I pulled it out I realized that it wasn’t coming out as smoothly as drawers are supposed to slide.
So the plan of attack for this table was to achieve a Dipped Gold Leg look and to paint the entire table in the color Raspberry. Also I was thinking of making a Geometric Pattern on top but that I was going to decide about it later when the table was done.
First of I Primed the entire table in Behr’s Paint and Prime in the color White and sprayed with my trusty Old HomeRight Finish Max Sprayer. I gave the entire table a complete even coat and waited for it to dry before painting it in the Raspberry Color.
After that I went in with my masking tape and taped off the legs and sprayed with my Rust-Oleum Gold Metallic Finish on the legs as well as the front of the drawer. I was initially going for the “Gold Dipped” look but then I completely spray painted it Gold.
Cant get enough of the Gold, what can I say 😉
As I mentioned earlier about the wonky drawer situation for that I had to make a quick little trip to Home Depot to get a specific piece of wood cut so I could attach it at the bottom and plus I had to get a drawer handle as well.
After spray painting the legs Gold, I took off the masking tape and Voila we have our very own trash to treasure masterpiece.
It’s such a fun and cute little design and it looks so refreshing that I didn’t even feel like creating any Geometric Pattern on top. It looked pretty good as it is.
