This will be the last of my Cardstock Wall Art Series. Finally the day has arrived that my Cardstock stash has finished or I would have just kept on pasting it on anything and everything I could get my hands on. Which brings me to my recent “victim”/creation my Deconstructed Aztec Wall Art.
I bought this really deep Turquoise Color which I painted onto the four square canvasses pictured above. I had no intention of posting this project initially so you guys will have to bear with the steps which I’ve just skipped altogether.
So the design for these canvasses was going to be the one that I painted on my Aztec Inspired Clay Bowl Makeover.
I traced out the design on a full sheet of Purple Cardstock which I had planned to use on top of this dark Turquoise color and cut out the Aztec Pattern.
I further split the main design into four equal parts ( not pictured ) since it was going to be a Deconstructed Wall Art hence everything had to be cut up.
The leftover Cardstock I cut those pieces (not pictured again) for the center of the canvasses and the Main Aztec Design, which I had cut into four equal parts I used for the corners for the Canvasses.
If all this is making no sense. No worries it isn’t making sense to me either, the pictures will do a better job at explaining.
Plus I also had studs lying about which I ended up using on these canvasses aswell.
When the paint was dry I glued on the Aztec Pattern and the studs around the main design.
I realized afterwards that there are so many ways to hang these canvasses.
I personally like the diamond pattern which these canvasses create. Which is probably the way I will end up hanging these babies.
Then I switched the design and made the bigger pattern, the ones used on the corners the main focus. Which looked pretty good too.
Then I thought what if I just hang these up in a square shape.
But this has been done so many times that everyone voted for it to be hanged in a diamond shape. So Diamond It Is.
And that was basically it. A super quick DIY Wall Art project which looks complicated but is definitely the exact opposite.
If you guys like this project then you will like the following Cardstock Wall Arts that I made recently.
