So I had tons of card stock leftover from My Mod Triangle Wall Art project and I also had two empty canvasses lying about begging to be painted.
You can see me using this beautiful pattern on a number of projects, to name a few my Southwestern Table Makeover, Ikea Coffee Table, DIY Wall Art and my Southwestern Bowl Makeover. Clearly this design is really popular in my DIY crafty world.
Materials needed for this project
Canvas (this is a great deal)
Elmers Glue
Scissors
Paintbrushes
Paper to cut out the template or you could use newspaper and recycle some paper
The random colors and tiny little holes that you see on the canvas is from a previous artwork creation situation I had going on these guys. So we shall ignore that!
The three main colors I chose were Blue, Light Green and Orange more in the family of pastels.
I started with the Blue and then gradually Orange, blending the colors along the way.
There’s no right or wrong way when creating “Abstract” so I just painted until everything looked blended enough.
My last color was adding Green on both top and bottom of the canvas.
After that I cut up a stencil from an old newspaper and traced it out onto the Gold Cardstock leftover from my previous project.
Using a thin layer of glue onto the back of the Cardstock also where you are going to place on the canvas then gently press it. Also you could place a heavy book on top until the Glue has completely dried.
I also cut Two different size triangles since I was going to add the bigger one on the top and bottom of the Southwestern pattern and the two little ones on the side.
And that was basically it.
All Done.
What do you guys think?
