Christmas is almost a month away, time has literally flown by!
Who else thinks that that 2018 went by too fast?
I could go on and on about how this year is going to be over too soon so I better jump into todays DIY project.
But before I do I want you guys to know that I am collaborating with 26 other DIY and home bloggers to bring you the Deck the Home Blog Hop.
And you might ask what that is and let me tell you that Deck the Home Blog Hop is where myself and 26 other bloggers will bring you amazing Christmas DIY and home projects which will be posted every Monday morning from now until the first week of December.
Every week there is a theme and this weeks theme is Wooden Project.
You can check out all the projects at the end of this post.
If you are long time reader you would know I love the marbling paint technique it is so fun and the results every time are unique.
You can see my Marbled Painted Coffee Table, Marbled Bar Cart and DIY Marbled Clock for more inspiration.
So when I was deciding how I should go about making my Wood Sign for Christmas I though why not use all the colors of the season by creating a gorgeous marbled effect.
Materials Needed for this Project
Wood
Paint (Green, Dark Green, White and Red)
Stencils
Disposable Cups
Nails
I started off with a wood piece which measured 13 by 8 inches.
I poured each color in disposable cups and thinned them out so they had the same consistency.
Start by pouring each color one by one.
After that tilt the Wood in all directions to get the Marbled look.
Let it completely dry before moving onto the next step.
I wanted to add white paint on either side of the wood piece so it would look as if snow is melting.
It is a really simple step just pour some white paint on one end.
Then tilt the Wood and slowly slowly the paint will start to drip downwards. You can create the drip as long or short you want I kept it a medium length as I was going to stencil as well.
Before the white paint dried up I sprinkled some glitter on top as well just to give it a little extra sparkle.
As for the stencil I used Americana Decor stencil Gnome Sweet Gnome and stenciled it in the middle using Gold Paint.
When that was dry that last step was for me to hammer in two nails and tie a fun leaf string so I could hang it easily.
And there you have it.
I love the drip effect with the Marbling and of course the Glitter.
What do you guys think?
