This was a fun little project since I love free hand drawing/painting and this pattern is my go to design.
I’ve noticed I tend to create this design for instance when I’m on the phone with someone and if I have a pen and paper in hand this is what I end up making without even thinking about it.
We all have that one design we always end up doodling without giving a thought and this is what I usually end up with.
So I though why not create a hand painted card out of it.
These were my supplies
Plain A4 size paper that I cut into a rectangular shape
Foam Brush
Narrow Tip Paint Brush
Turquoise Paint
Purple Paint
Gold Liquid Gilding
I started with the foam brush by lightly dabbing it into the paint and giving it a swipe across the paper.
Alternating between both colors and letting them overlap in between.
I wanted to give it a watercolor effect.
Then it was time to hand paint.
Since it’s freehand you don’t have to be perfect and even though I’ve made this design “50 million times” but for the life of me I can never get the triangles perfect or the design in general.
But that is exactly how I like it.
I used Gold Liquid Gilding for the “Aztec” pattern.
And there you have it a quick and easy hand painted card idea.
What do you guys think?
