So my previous posts which were the Clay Heart Dish and Flower Clay Bowl have been more or less sort of Valentines Day specific and even though todays little DIY can be perfect for V-Day as well, but you could still make it for a special occasion, an anniversary or birthday etc.
I painted this Canvas a while back for my husband and that too for his birthday.
Just like me he loves thoughtful gifts which have a back story or some effort put into it.
Not gonna lie this was kinda hard to figure it out, and to get the perfect sound waves painted onto the canvas but it all worked out in the end.
Materials Needed for this Project
DecoArt Chalky Finish Paint in Red
Scissors
Printer
I chose a rectangular shaped canvas as I knew the sound wave would look better horizontally.
And I went ahead and gave it a good two coats of the color Red.
Let it dry.
For the sound wave part, I used the recording software already installed on my laptop and recorded a message.
This part is the fun part as you can record any message you like and it will be a little secret between you and your loved one.
It will look like a great piece of Art on your wall but it will still have meaning to it.
When you have finally decided the message you will record, take a screenshot of your image.
I used a website called Rasterbation to get an accurate print out.
That is how my Soundwave turned out after I had printed and cut it out.
From this point onwards, if you took a colored print out you can easily just glue it on to the canvas but of course I chose the harder route.
I first traced the pattern and then decided to paint the sound waves using liquid Gold Gilding.
And let me tell ya it was hard, I tried to be as precise as I could and these were my results.
Not completely perfect but not too shabby either.
Just the thought of knowing that this message has almost come to life makes me so happy.
This can be a perfect gift for Mothers or Fathers Day and any special occasion for that matter.
What do you guys think?
