You guys must have noticed I changed my backdrop in my recent post Herringbone Chair Makeover and today I wanted to share with you guys how I made it.
My backdrop is basically a really huge Canvas which I use while photographing my furniture pieces and this time around I felt like using some light pastel shades.
Hence I ended up using these three beautiful shades by Velvet Finishes.
So first things first I eye balled the canvas and roughly split it into three parts. I started with Ethereal then Exotic and finally Glamorous blending in the three as I went on.
By all means this isn’t supposed to be perfect at all and the colors don’t have to be equally divided in proper lines or anything of that sort.
Go crazy with it!
Live a little 😉
Next step was the stenciling part.
How beautiful is this Ikat stencil by DecoArt.
The plan was to basically use the same three colors !
And this is how I was going to go about it.
Ethereal was going to get Glamorous.
Exotic was going to get Ethereal.
Glamorous was going to get Exotic.
Now how’s that for a plan? 😉
But as always I kinda went off plan!
I ended up going all Ethereal because the powdery pink complimented the Glamorous and Exotic so well.
Just for the Ethereal section of the canvas I applied Glamorous.
And that was basically it.
All Done
