This amazing DIY Ikea Hack will show you how you can use a basic Ikea Basket and Mirror and turn it into a Stunning Coffee Table. It is quick, easy, affordable and super trendy as well.
I am so excited for today’s fun little DIY Ikea hack. Not only is this hack so simple and easy to execute but there are so many variations to this DIY.
Instead of using Yarn you could paint it or instead of using the mirror as the tabletop you could use a wood or glass piece.
I absolutely loved Ikea hacks and if you want to see some more Ikea furniture makeovers then be sure to check out DIY Ikea Ivar Cabinet turned Credenza or DIY Lack Table Makeover or Ikea Nightstand Makeover and lastly this fun Ikea Lamp Makeover.
I even made a video to show you guys the whole process.

Tutorial for DIY IKEA HACK – Cofee Table
Step 1
So for this DIY Ikea hack, I went with a fun rattan style basket from Ikea which I believe is called Snidad. I love the boho-chic look to it and the first step to make it into a table base was to remove the handles.
It’s pretty easy to cut through and you can use a pair of scissors or X-Acto knife. After that just pull the handles and they will easily come apart.
Step 2
I decided to use colorful yarn to wrap around the “joints” of the basket.
Working with Yarn is my favorite part and I have used it on so many projects like this DIY Yarn Resin Tray and this fun little DIY Yarn Wall Art.
For this part, you need a Hot Glue Gun as it makes this process go by way faster.
Apply the glue to the basket and using one piece of yarn at a time to start wrapping it around the basket.
I always start from the top and then make my way down.
If there is any space or gaps left I can just go over it with the yarn again.
Keep on wrapping the Yarn around until you have the desired look. I alternated the colors from pink to blue.
This is how it looked when the first part of this DIY was complete.
Step 3
For the next part, I decided to switch up the colors of the yarn and alternate between the light green and blue.
I did the exact same thing as I did before and applying a thin layer of glue I kept wrapping the yarn all around the basket.
This whole process took me about an hour.
Step 4
This is the fun part where you make this basket into an actual functioning DIY Coffee Table.
I used a round mirror from Ikea in the color beige.
The base of the basket measured about 19 inches and the size of this mirror was about 21 inches so it was perfect to be used as a Tabletop.
Using a stronghold glue, I used the e6000 glue. Apply an even layer all around the base of the basket.
Gently place the mirror on top and adjust it to make it centered.
Give it a full 24 hours before you actually use it.
And there you have it.
You have yourself your very own DIY IKEA Coffee table just by using a basket and a mirror.
What do you guys think?
