Tutorial for How To – DIY Wood Coasters
STEP 1
So I had very small random wood pieces of wood leftover from various projects.
I first cut about 10 wood pieces about 4 by 3 inches from leftover wood using my hand saw.
The depth of the wood was about 3/4 inches.
The Ideas was to use two pieces as the wood as the base and rest of three on top in a line. This is a very beginner level way of making Coasters and super simple.
STEP 2
To create the Wood Coaster apply Wood Glue the one I used was Gorilla Glue.
Lay two of the wood pieces and place them horizontally. And then place on top the other three wood pieces.
Do the exact same thing to the other one.
Press it down firmly and let it dry before painting.
STEP 3
You could of course leave the wood as is or apply wood stain. I had no intention of painting it prior to gluing but once it was glued I thought it looked a little plain.
So I decided to use the paint colors below.
I chose Gold and Copper colors and painted the Coasters in an alternating manner.
If I would do this again I would have painted the wood pieces before gluing it as it would have been much faster and easier.
Let the DIY Wood Coasters dry for 24 hours and if you want you could also apply a coating of Sealant.
And there you have it.
All Done.
