One thing that I love doing other then flipping furniture is fabric painting throw pillows.
I’ve posted a ton about pillow makeovers on this blog, to name a few this Roses Allover Throw Pillow, or Otomi Tribal Pillow and Ombre Herringbone Cushions
And today I will add another one to the list.
Materials Needed for This Project
Fabric Paints (I used these paints)
Paper Plate (to pour the paint and dip the brush into)
Throw pillows are the perfect way to add a pop of color to a boring looking sofa or a chair.
If you want to add color and don’t want to be over the top with it, adding small items such as pillows, small decorative items is the route to take.
The pillow I used for this project was all white with a stitched pattern all over.
The fabric paints used for this project are the So Soft Paints from DecoArt.
Most of my fabric painted projects I’ve done have been created while using these paints and I love the finish.
The brushes I used for this project are also from DecoArt.
I ended up using the 1/3 inch size for this project
So simply pour the fabric paints on a paper plate as its easy to dip in, then brush off the excess on a piece of cloth and lightly start dabbing onto the pillow.
Since I had the stitching pattern it was a perfect guide for me to “Dot” in perfect symmetry.
I played around with the colors with no set rules of where which color should go. I just went with it and figured it out along the way.
When you have completed the whole design just wait for it to dry.
And you will have you’re very own customized pillow all DONE within minutes.
And here is the final result.
What do you guys think?
