So I’ve had a couple of plain pillows lying about for quite some time now. They didn’t really bother me nor did I plain on changing them since they were white and neutral and they kinda balanced out all our crazy colorful furniture pieces.
But of course that only lasted a few months before I had my hands all over those pillows.
When I saw this beautiful Roses Allover Stencil by Cutting Edge Stencils I knew it would look perfect on this pillow.
It was like this stencil was made for the pillow.
It had the perfect border for the roses.
So I just had to have it!
I tried my best to stick with one color for this project.
But as usual I was only dreaming for that to happen.
I ended up with two colors which is still a pretty decent self control situation on my part 😉
I used fabric paints by DecoArt in the color teal and purple.
I took off the pillow cover and laid it down completely flat and placed the stencil on top.
Then gently alternating the fabric paints I painted in between the stencils.
Since this is in an intricate pattern it did take me a while to get the whole pillow done.
Plus I had two colors to play around with which is also the reason why it took me a little longer.
But nonetheless I love how it turned out.
What do you guys think?
So when I saw how pretty this turned out.
I knew the other side of the pillow was completely bare.
It only meant for me to experiment with some more fabric paints 😉
And I really wanted to test out how the Kashmir Mandala Stencil which is also by Cutting Edge Stencils would look on a pillow.
Ive already done a project using this stencil which you guys can see here .
And this is how it looked.
Now I have two different patterns on the same pillow.
And I love it.
If I’m feeling particulary rosy one day I can flip it to the other side or if Im in the mood for something Boho chic.
I can turn to this side 😉
So there you have it.
My double dose of projects for this week.
