This wall art was an absolute joy to paint. I think I say that about every single project I do but this one for REAL was the most fun to paint because I normally always end up painting a geometric pattern or I stencil but this time I got to paint free hand flowers and BOY was it fun.
I first saw this being done by Mark Montano and you can see how beautifully he makes it here. After being inspired by how amazing it looks I just had to make one of my own.
And here is my take on this little masterpiece.
I started off spray painting the entire canvas in Metallic Silver.
Trust me it was really hard for me not to use the Gold but I just thought lets give Silver a chance this time around 😉
When the canvas was all sprayed and dry I went in with white chalk paint and painted in flowers.
Circular shaped flowers the regular ones as well as leaves, nothing has to be precise just go crazy with it.
I used Americana Decor’s White Chalk Paint since I wanted the paint to dry fairly quick and this paint did the trick.
When that was all set and done it was time to layer on the colors which was the most fun part of the whole process
This was the color palette for my Wall Art.
Every color had to be bright and cheerful from the greens to the pinks.
I started off with the color Orange and dabbed the paint onto the white base of the flowers. Nothing has to be perfect you just fill in however you please.
Then I added in the color Pink and layered it in with the orange, plus also filled in the rest of the flowers.
Things were slowly coming along 🙂
Then it was time to add in the Yellow.
Also the good part is you don’t have to wait in between for the colors to dry since you have to blend all the colors as you go along.
The leaves were a combination of Teal and a Neon Green Color.
The final part was to add the Puffy Paint texture. This is the part where you can be as random as you want. You just have to fill out and create lines in the flowers and leaves so they “kinda” look like leaves and flowers Ya know! 😉
And that was it.
It literally took me about 15 mins and now I have this beautiful piece of Artwork.
What do you guys think ?
I can’t wait to switch up the the background color and see how it would look but for now I am super happy with the way it turned out.
