Learn How To Decorate an Empty Vase/ Glass Bottle be it from the Dollar Store or a Pasta Sauce Jar into a beautiful summery floral Vase with this simple and easy DIY craft.
I am so excited about today’s project because I designed my own print for this beautiful Vase Makeover! I have been getting so many requests on how to update a vase but without painting it!
And today I have just the trick which is to use a gorgeous print to cover up a plain boring Vase or Glass Bottle.
Some of my popular posts have been about Vase Makeovers such as this beautiful Anthropologie Inspired Vase but it was very intricate and needed a lot of detailed paintwork so it only made sense to create an easy DIY Flower Vase craft for you guys.
I love the bright, bold and beautiful colors of this print.
Tutorial for How to Decorate an Empty Vase
STEP 1
So I started off with an empty bottle that I think was used for some pasta sauce. The size was perfect for what I had in mind.
You can use any bottle, Vase or Dollar Store Glassware you have on hand for this project.
I went ahead and first painted the entire bottle in a blue color. You could also leave spray paint it as well.
I used a combination of dark green and light blue color.
It needed about two coats.
You could, of course, skip this step and just go straight to using the Print directly on the clear glass vase but I wanted a contrasting color with my print hence I decided to paint it.
STEP 2
Time to use my beautiful print.
I love it so much, it makes me so happy!
Many of you have been asking for a super simple DIY Vase Makeover Idea or a simple craft to do at home etc so I decided to showcase this Print on an Empty Bottle.
So I got my design printed out on a thicker, glossy paper since I love the shinier look.
But if you want a matte finish, printing it out on a regular standard paper will just work out just fine.
I only wanted the middle portion of the Bottle to be covered so I measured out how much I will need of the Print.
I marked onto the print the place where I was going to cut it. ( I also have a full video tutorial where you can see the full process)
STEP 3
Since I chose to print out my design onto a thicker paper I decided to use Hot Glue Gun to glue it in place but if you have it printed out on a standard A4 size paper you could easily use regular glue or decoupage glue.
I just applied a thin layer of the hot glue and wrapped the beautiful print all around.
It instantly made such a difference.
The last step is optional and you can see it in my Video as well which is where I wrapped Yarn around the Rim of the Bottle.
And that was it.
All Done.
What do you guys think?
Doesn’t this make you so happy!
