I absolutely loved how this Ikea Nightstand Makeover turned out. With just vibrant paint color, a gorgeous stencil and some wood chips it is completely transformed.
This is how it looked before it got a Makeover.
We all have seen this fella and how plain and basic it actually is.
Materials Needed for This Project
African Kuba Stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils
So for this little makeover I went a beautiful green color I most likely would have never used but I think this might be my new favorite color from now on.
I went with the color Baroque by Velvet Finishes.
So first of I started painting the tables and the nightstands needed two coats each. It took me about 3 hours from start to finish to give each table two coats and then I let it dry for several more hours because my plan was to stencil the front part of the drawer.
I chose this beautiful stencil by Cutting Edge Stencils called African Kuba.
For the front part of the Nightstand I painted over the stencil with Liquid Gold Gilding and lightly dabbed the paint onto the drawer with my stencil brush.
For the legs of the Nightstand I bought these wooden pieces from Michaels in different sizes and painted them with the same Liquid Gold Gilding.
I chose the Medium and the small size and glued it onto the legs with wood glue.
I gave it a full day for the glue to completely dry.
For the drawer knobs I replaced the previous wooden ones with these beautiful leaf shaped knobs which I got from D Lawless Hardware.
And finally for the top part of the nightstand I gave it two coats of High Gloss Spray Paint and let it dry completely for a day.
And this is how the beauty turned out. What do you guys think ?
How awesome is that ?
Three amazing products!
I’m loving the new makeover. What do you guys think?
