The final reveal of a stunning Rental Apartment Master Bedroom Makeover done on a budget is finally here.
I am really happy with the way it turned out, almost all of the things I had envisioned on my Mood Board I pretty much ended up getting for the room.
In case you guys missed my previous post which was my Mood Board: Master Bedroom Makeover Plan , do hop on over and check it out. I’ve shared the items/pieces that I bought, which was “not so surprisingly” all online.
I had a blast transforming my room since it definitely needed it!
In today’s post I will share the Before and After side by side so we all can see how much improvement has taken place.
Without further Ado let us begin the Final Reveal.
A little recap of how my bedroom entrance looked Before.
I had plans of moving my Modern Bookshelf in this little space and that finally happened, it looks perfect here.
The beautiful Clear glass Brass hanging frame that I bought off Amazon and in which I placed a pretty colorful paper with split Palm leaf I had leftover from my Decoupaged Gold Accent Table project and hanged it over the bookshelf.
When you fully enter the room the view of the bedroom was like the above picture.
Now it looks like this!
In place of the Printer/Table combo, now I have a beautiful Purple Accent Chair that I bought off Wayfair. Behind the chair, I placed a Gold floor lamp because that area definitely needed some Light.
The Copper and Gold Palm Leaf Wall Arts that you see behind the chair on the wall was my little DIY creation and the full tutorial you can read to see how I made them.
The pillow I have on top of the chair is my hand-painted Throw Pillow as well that I created a few months ago.
The color combination was perfect to be used in the bedroom.
I also moved my Kilim Bench in the space and placed it in front of my bed.
Adding this white Faux fur footstool with hairpin legs to go with the Chair turned out to be a really good idea.
But obviously the reason why the whole room looks amazing is because of this Moroccan Rug from RugsUSA.
Just placing the rug even without all the other pieces made such a difference in the room.
So I didn’t like how bare the walls on either side of the curtains looked and it had this perfect corner where I could place a Triangle Wooden Shelf with a Copper Plantar I had in mind.
The lamp bases needed an upgrade as well but I didn’t mind the square-shaped Lampshades.
So I switched the lamp bases to Gold.
The triangle shelf turned out to be the perfect missing piece that the corner needed with the Gold and Copper Wall Art.
Remember how I mentioned in my last post that I love my Ikat Nightstand but I just wanted to make a slight change and that was too add some hairpin legs to the bottom.
Also, the height of the nightstand wasn’t at the level of the bed so it desperately needed the legs to be equal.
And just like that, a minor little detail made such a difference.
The full tutorial on how I added the legs can be found in my IKAT Nightstand post.
I think the biggest change in the room after the Rug of course was the bedding.
Choosing completely plain colors really made a difference.
First of the bed skirt hid those ugly metal legs of the bed that was showing before.
I chose a Teal color duvet cover which came with two of the same colored pillow covers.
I also bought two purple colored covers to go with the Accent chair and in general with the theme of the room.
Lastly I just added a throw on top of the bed to break up the Teal color a bit.
This Southwestern wall art, the minute I saw it , I fell in love with.
I knew I could DIY it but I found this at Ross for so cheap that I could not pass up the opportunity to grab it.
The existing curtains remained as is and so did the floor cushions.
And lastly, the idea I had in mind to use huge canvasses as “headboard” than actually buying one for the bed turned out pretty good if I say so myself.
The idea was to create a simple abstract Wall Art using almost all the colors I had used in the room.
I actually ended up using the same technique I did on my Abstract Console Table.
I did paint these rather quickly and it didn’t quite end up turning out the way I wanted but since it is just an abstract piece I can always go in and make changes later on.
I used three individual canvasses to cover the space behind the bed.
