I actually have a really funny story about this furniture piece. When I first looked it up on Craigslist I assumed it was a full size chest of drawers.
Turns out when I got to pick it up it was small table size about 20 inches in height. But that still didn’t stop me from buying it because I thought I would use it to hold jewelry and small little knick knacks.
Behold the before shot
And when you open up the drawers you get to feast your eyes on this
“All Red Everything” situation.
Materials Needed for this Projects
Light Pink Velvet Finishes Paint
The color I chose for this piece was Ethereal by Velvet Finishes. Its this soft powdery pink color which I desperately needed to get rid of the brown.
To get an absolutely flawless paint finish I used my HomeRight Finish Max Sprayer and gave it two coats.
The results with this sprayer is always amazing and you guys can see my Coffee Table Makeover as well to see the gorgeous results.
Everything got a good coating of Ethereal, the drawers, the inside of the drawers and the chest of drawer itself. Since I sprayed the entire table all that hardware ended up getting covered up with paint as well.
But either way I had to paint over it anyways since the Gold was really dull to begin with.
I painted the entire hardware with some Liquid Gold Gilding to bring it back to life.
When that was done it was time to tackle the red situation. I tried scraping off the red but it wouldn’t budge so I ended up using these Decoupage papers from DecoArt.
All that Gold was perfect if I was going to make this into something which was going to hold all my jewellery.
With some decoupage glue I went ahead and started lining the drawers.
Incase you guys are wondering those wooden dividers in the drawers they could easily slide out so I removed them and lined the drawers smoothly.
And this is how it turned out.
I chose different patterns for all the drawers.
Couple of close up shots of these beautiful decoupage papers.
Aren’t they just the cutest.
What was once a piece that I regretted buying the minute I saw it, now I’m completely in love with.
What do you guys think?
I love the different decoupage paper patterns I get to see when I open the drawers.
I’ve already started to arrange all my jewelry in it and I love it.
