This Lamp is pretty Bold statement piece even for me who loves playing around with color and pattern. I just did not want to give it a simple lamp makeover and call it a day.
This lamp is for someone who really loves to take risks in design.
Here is how the lamp looked before

Materials Needed for this Project
DecoArt Metallic Paint in Gold
For the lampshade I wanted a very unique pattern.
So for that I grabbed my masking tape and started taping the lampshade in un even square shapes.

After that was time to Gold Leafing on the lampshade.
I used Decoupage glue by DecoArt and carefully placed the Gold Leaf all over.

When that was all set I carefully peeled off the masking tape.
Next the base of the lamp needed an uplift.
It had to be a Bold color aswell .
And you can’t get more bolder then this beautiful turquoise color.
I chose the color Aqua Waters from DecoArt.
I’ve used this color on several piece which you can see here and here.
The finish of this paint is a Glossy amazing result which I love but without the hassle of oil based paints since you can use this paint with water.
How amazing is that.
I gave the base of the lamp two coats.
Then when it was dry I taped off the lamp more than half way since I wanted to give it the Gold Dipped look.
I used the Metallic Paint from DecoArt and I chose the 24K Gold.
Look at that liquid gold.

So I gave the base a light coat and this is how it looked after just one layer.
You can build on the color as much as you want. I obviously wanted it to be super GOLD knowing myself so I gave it another coat ;)
When that was done it was just a matter of taking off the masking tape and attaching the lampshade back onto the base.
And that was it.
All Done.

LOve the idea of gold leafing the lamp shade. I am on it today. I had bought the gold leaf but was unsure where to use it. Absolutely love this. Will do my ceiling light in my bedroom ❤️
