Being like the biggest fan of herringbone i had to have herringbone cushions because that seemed like the obvious next step. Right.
And knowing i had my fabric paints leftover from my DIY Rug Makeover post so it only made sense to use it on these cushions.
I had to go buy white cotton fabric for this project since i had all colors of fabric at home besides white. Just my luck.
I honestly could not wait for these cushions so as soon as i bought the fabric i started the taping process without even ironing the creases out. Which was definitely a bad move.
With my trusty paint brush I started the painting process. I could have used a sponge but i felt liked using a paintbrush this time around.
I went from yellow to orange to pink to dark pink.
I planned on only doing one side of the cushion at first but then again i thought if i’m doing so much “hard work” why not just do both sides.
When the yellow ombre cushion were done i started the next one in shades of light green to green and blue
The painting took me a while because of not ironing the fabric before but it all turned out fine in the end.
All done and ironed i went ahead and stitched it into cushion covers.
And there you have it.
So bright and so colourful. It adds that much needed POP of color in my room.
