I am finally doing it this year you guys!
It has been almost four years when I did my first ever One Room Challenge and I was just a year in my home decor blogging journey and I have to say those six weeks just flew by. It was challenging but getting to be in the company of other amazing home decor bloggers made it well worth it.
If you are new here just know my style is really bright, colorful and vibrant!
The timing could not have been more perfect as my husband and I just moved to a new place and I of course having the DIY bug in me wanted to completely transform all the rooms as quick as I could. But realistically that can’t happen so I have decided to tackle my Dining Room for the One Room Challenge.
Before I jump into my plans, ideas and the current state of my Dining Room let me tell you guys what the One Room Challenge actually is and what am I even talking about.
The ORC is a biannual event in which twenty featured designers and hundreds of bloggers from all over come together for about six weeks to transform one or more room in their own homes .Every week we update on the progress until the final Reveal Day where you get to see all the beautifully decorated rooms from all the bloggers. You can read all about the One Room Challenge, the featured designers as well as the bloggers over here.
With that said lets move onto my Dining Room plans and before we fully jump into it I have to give you a Before shot of how it currently looks.
We just moved in hence why everything is so bare and random things such as that floor lamp and mirror as seen above are in the space.
I love the actual dining table which I just made recently as part of another Dining Room Makeover I did last year full tutorial here.
I am planning to keep the table as is but I might switch up the legs.
The chairs I really do like and they were a great find and pretty cheap as well.
They do have a little bit of weather damage but that does not bother me as my plan is to paint them into an almost “Anthropolgie” inspired vibe as you can see from my Mood Board.

I’m still debating as to which pattern to go with, the geometric line or the floral versions and the confusion is because the Wallpaper I am using in this space is going to be a beautiful Green Watercolor Leaves print. I don’t want to paint the chairs in such a pattern which makes the place too busy, if you know what I mean.
Moving onto the Buffet/ Credenza as no Dining Room is complete without it!
I will be making my own out of the classic Ikea Ivar Cabinets. Of course I will not leave it plain as I have plans on using a gorgeous Trim, Wood Applique and some stunning Table Legs on the piece. You guys will get to see it all come together as the weeks progress.
Lastly, Wall Art and decoration pieces. This time I am planning on making a textured Floral Wall Art piece which would complement the green and white Wallpaper. The Wall Art will be above the DIY Buffet and pretty big in size.
The whole idea is to make this space lively, inviting and really colorful.
It won’t be my DIY project if it does not have tons of color, am I right?
So that is pretty much my plan thus far. Things might change or I might add a few other items but for now this is what my plan looks like for my Dining Room.
What do you guys think? I would love to hear your input on my Mood Board.
And I hope you stick around for the next few weeks on my journey to getting this plain Dining Room and transforming it into a colorful vibrant space.
