I bought a bunch of these plain looking lamps knowing that I would paint them one by one and this little guy got the Polka Dot Treatment, the other got a Aztec Inspired Makeover and a Modern Lamp Makeover.
I wanted the lamp to be in the same color as my Ikea Lack Coffee Gets The Southwestern Makeover hence I stuck with the same Mint Green and color combination.
Here is the before shot of the lamp.
Materials Needed for this Project
Coral Paint
Paintbrush
First things first I detached the lampshade and first spray painted the lamp base completely Gold.
I gave it two coats to fully cover the base. While that was drying I started my work on the Lamp Shade.
I went in and painted the lampshade in this gorgeous Light Green paint. It need a couple of coats since to be fully covered because no one wants to see patched of paint missing when you will turn on the lamp.
Hence give it a few good coats even if you think its too much, give it some more paint.
Trust Me!
For the circular Wood pieces, I first taped them off using some masking tape. I taped all the pieces in different sizes.
One side I painted completely Gold the other in the beautiful Coral color.
Let the lamp shade and the wood pieces dry completely before placing them on the lamp.
I used a little bit of Mod Podge and dabbed some on the wood piece and placed them all around the lamp shade. Play around with the different sizes of the circle as well like I did with mine.
When that is all done, just re-attach the lamp back onto its base and there you have it.
How easy was this Lamp Transformation.
