This was certainly a quick little makeover, the whole project was done in under fifteen minutes.
I actually really liked how it was originally which is why I never thought of giving it a makeover.
But since the room in which we had this lamp had the Storage Cabinet so I wanted this lamp to go with the theme.
Here is the before
Material Needed for this Project
Wood Chips (Oval and Rectangle Shaped)
Liquid Gold Gilding (Optional)
First I spray painted the entire base of the lamp in the bright pop of Blue .
It needed two to three light coats to fully cover it.
When that was done I went in with my Liquid Gold Gilding and painted over the already existing design so the design was enhanced.
For the lamp shade part I didn’t want to paint the shade nor did I want to switch it out for a new one so I decided to use these wood chips that I bought from Michaels.
I used the Rectangular ones as well.
I painted the rectangular ones Turquoise and the Oval ones in this Light Baby Pink color.
When the wood chips were dry it was just a matter of gluing each individually onto the lamp shade using some Mod Podge.
I just experimented with the placement and ended up with what you guys see now.
And that was it .
Gave it a full day for it to dry.
And that was it.
What do you guys think?
