You guys have seen me using this stencil previously on my Fabric Painted Cushion Ideas project.
And I loved how the roses looked.
So it only made sense for me to use this stencil again but on a Canvas this time around.
Materials needed for this project
Acrylic Paints (I used 5 colors)
1 Stencil Brush (included with the stencil kit)
1 Thin Paint Brush
Turquoise Paint For Stenciling
Gold Liquid Gilding (my favorite)
Starting off the background of this canvas I wanted to be fun, since I was going to keep the stenciling on top just one main color.
So I started by simply adding just a drop or two each of the five different paint colors on one side of the canvas.
I chose Hot Pink, Purple, Pink, Yellow and Lime Green.
And then with a Large Paint Brush I did one swipe from Right to Left to spread the colors evenly.
Since you don’t want the colors to get all muddled up, so swiping in one direction as opposed to going back and forth will keep the colors from blending.
When the canvas was dry I proceeded with the stenciling.
This Beautiful stencil is from Cutting Edge Stencils.
And It fit perfectly on the canvas.
As per usual just dab the brush lightly into the paint, brush off the excess on a piece of cloth and then get to stenciling.
The turquoise color was a pretty contrast to all the colors happening in the background.
When the stenciling was completely dry I went in with a thin paintbrush and just outlined a few of the flowers so that when the sunlight hits the canvas the Gold pops.
And there you have it.
All Done.
I do think that it gives off those Color Pop Art vibes.
Don’t you think?
