Stencilled Wall Shelf Makeover

You guys can clearly see that my go to stencil is Cutting Edges Indian Inlay Stencil since its so versatile. Ive used it on multiple pieces which you guys can see here, here and here.

And this little Wall Shelf also got a dose of it today :)

I don’t really have a before shot of how the Wall Shelf looked before but it was this dark purple which just didn’t go in the room it was hanging in so it was time to change it.

I chose to paint it completely white so you know I could have a blank canvas to stencil on.

For the stenciling part on the shelf I went with the color Coral and Gold.

Clearly the Coral color has been my top favorite since thats how the bottle looks now after multiple uses but this beautiful Coral  is by DecoArt.

I also used Liquid Gilding in Gold because how can I ever do a project without using Gold!

So to begin with the Shelf got two coats of the white to cover the existing purple color on it.

Then I alternated between coral and Gold and went all around the shelf. Painting in sections since one part had to dry before I could flip it on the other side to start painting.

I only used three stencils out of the five stencils that the Indian Inlay Stencil Kit comes with and you can use it however or whichever way you want.

When I said it’s versatile I really did mean it :)

Just lightly dab with the stencil brush in an up and down motion to fill in the stencils.

For the inside of the shelf I only painted  the sides using the Coral color.

And that was basically it.

Super easy as always and even if I’ve used this stencil multiple times I always get excited when I look at the end result.
