So I’m not really the biggest fan of painting trees or nature or anything which requires an extra ounce of energy then my regular geometric designs (which I absolutely love)
But my husband had been wanting me to paint a “Tree Painting” for almost forever! Any time he would see any Nature painting in a restaurant or a shop or any place he would turn and look at me and say
“Can you please paint something like this?”
And my response would be
“Umm but I don’t really love painting landscapes and stuff”
But that didn’t stop him
After months and months of him asking me repeatedly and persistently.
I finally gave in!
And at this point it had been almost two years so I guess it was high time 😉
Hence this is how the Tree Painting Wall Art came about
My husband loves this Wall Art!
Apparently it is one of his favorite pieces I have ever done!
And surprisingly it was a lot of fun for me to paint as well.
So for the background of the painting I used three shades of blue.
A dark navy blue, A teal color and a Sky blue.
I went in a circular motion all over the canvas blending each layer together.
When that was dry I went in with the color Brown to start building the Tree structure.
So at this point you just make a tree, a super rough sketch, doesn’t have to be perfect at all.
If you mess up, no need to worry since all the flaws will be covered with the thousands of flowers we will eventually paint over it.
The Liquid Gold Gilding I used was to basically give the tree an added layer/depth.
And of course I just needed an excuse to use Gold !
For the flowers I chose a multitude of colors.
I did layer some flowers with the color White but I didn’t really like how they ended up looking so white was out of the picture and kept only the ones pictured above.
For the centre part of the flowers I dabbed a little Gold onto each and every single flower.
If you follow me on Instagram you can see how I painted the flowers.
You can go here and see it!
And basically that was it !
I didn’t really do a great job of documenting the whole process since I was actually really absorbed in the whole thing while I was painting it.
But hopefully you guys like it.
What do you guys think?
