Transform a plain gift box in a beautiful customized DIY Chocolate Heart Box for your loved one this Valentine’s Day
Here we are, guys, the first month of 2020 has officially wrapped up and it is February already.
Honestly for me when January ends time after that flies like literally flies and basically December will be here before we know it.
But anyway enough of me rambling about time flying and let’s focus on the time we actually have and let’s try to spend it with our loved ones as much as we can.
Also surprising them with this DIY Gift Box which for Valentine’s Day is not a bad Idea either.
This is what I decided to create a fun, bright and colorful DIY Gift Box.

Step 1
So I have had this Heart Shape Box for years to the point I don’t even remember where I got it from or who gave it.
I never used it as it was just a plain faux leather heart shape box.
But this time I decided to give it some color and honestly I am obsessed with the way it turned out.
Wipe off any dust from the surface before you start painting it.
Step 2
The first order of business was to paint it all white and the best paint to use on a leather surface was the Multi-Surface Paint by DecoArt.
It did need a total of three coats to completely cover it but the results were great.
Step 3
This is the fun part, the part where you can customize the box the way you want it to turn out.
I found inspiration from some bright colorful rainbow art and decided to recreate it on to this gift box.
The colors I chose were a shade of Coral, Purple and Yellow.
Using a thin tip paintbrush, paint curved lines on the heart box.
The thing that makes this even better is if you drag down the line all the way to the sides of the gift box.
Step 4
The top half of the gift box I painted in shades of pink and yellow and the lower part I decided to use a mix of light blue and dark green.
Honestly, this was such a quick and easy DIY but what a huge difference it made to a rather boring Heart Box.
I mean it looks great!
Don’t you Agree.
The last step is optional but I decided to add in some Artificial Flowers inside the box and also added chocolate roses in the middle of each flower.
I made a similar DIY a few years ago and you can check out my DIY Flower Heart post.
But there you have it.
All Done.
What do you guys think?
